WORDSWORTH PRIMARY SCHOOL

Collective Worship

At Wordsworth Primary School and Nursery children participate in Collective Worship daily through attending either a Key Stage assembly led by the Senior Leadership Team, a Phase Assembly led by the Phase Leader or class assemblies led by the Class Teacher. The staff follow our Collective Worship overview, which includes local, national and world events and celebrations. Our assemblies positively contribute to the spiritual, moral, social and cultural life of Wordsworth by focusing on our school values.

Key Stage Assemblies

Every Tuesday, each Key Stage attends an assembly led by the Senior Leadership Team. The assembly focusses on each of our school values (Nurture, Empowerment, Community, Learning, Trust) and our school rules. It is a chance for key messages to be shared with our children and to celebrate their successes from the past week. For example, which of our children and classes have the highest attendance and which classes have been noticed to be exceptional at ‘Silent Corridors'.

Phase Assemblies

Once a week, each Phase attends a Phase Assembly led by their Phase Leader.

Year R and 1 – Miss Harvey

Year 2, 3 and 4 – Miss Bevan

Year 5 and 6 – Miss Hastings

During the assembly, our children will celebrate the ‘Stars of the Week’, reflect on their contribution to one of our school values and learn about the key theme from our collective worship overview.

Class Assemblies

On the days when our children do not attend one of the above, there is a class assembly. These are also linked to the key themes from our Collective Worship overview.

Monitoring

Collective Worship is monitored by the Senior Leadership team, the RE Curriculum Leader and the Governing Body.
