WORDSWORTH PRIMARY SCHOOL
Computing
At Wordsworth Primary and Nursery School, our Computing curriculum is designed to develop not only the technical skills, knowledge, and creativity needed to thrive in an increasingly digital world but also to support students’ spiritual, moral, social, and cultural (SMSC) development. We are committed to fostering a deep understanding of computational thinking, problem-solving, and the safe, responsible use of technology.
We aim to:
- Provide a comprehensive education in digital literacy, programming, and the fundamentals of computer science.
- Encourage students to explore and apply their understanding of technology to real-world scenarios, promoting innovation and logical thinking.
- Develop confident, independent learners who are well-versed in emerging technologies, digital safety, and online responsibility.
- Ensure all students, regardless of background or ability, have the opportunity to access high-quality computing education, nurturing future-ready skills such as collaboration, communication, and critical thinking.
By the end of their computing journey at Wordsworth Primary and Nursery School, pupils will be digitally literate, ready to succeed in a technology-driven society, and prepared to embrace further learning opportunities and careers in the digital and computing industries.
